Eastern View
Eastern View
Home to the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch and digger’s monument, which is a tribute to the World War One servicemen who died while fighting in the war and the returned servicemen who built the Great Ocean Road. Work began in 1918 with thousands of returned servicemen enduring the backbreaking labour to link Lorne to Eastern View. Over the next 14 years, the Great Ocean Road Trust continued working on linking Lorne with Anglesea and Apollo Bay.
If visiting the Arch to take a photo, please stay behind the safety barriers and off the road.
