Located just steps away from the Fairhaven, Moggs Creek is a peaceful and stunning part of the Great Otway National Park. The Moggs Creek foreshore area offers fantastic views of the iconic Split Point Lighthouse with long stretches of sandy beaches. Perfect for sunrise strolls and ocean fishing, Moggs Creek is a little known haven for locals.
Home to the threatened beach-nesting shorebird, the Hooded Plover. With one of the lowest survival rates from egg to adult of any species, this breeding zone an important habitat for the ‘Hoodies’. Moggs Creek is a dog-friendly beach, however we ask that all dogs be kept on lead during breeding season (August- March) to protect the local birds.

Friends of Moggs Creek is a small team of locals who work in partnership with the Surf Coast Shire to help eradicate weeds in the Moggs Creek area and replant indigenous species. The group is supported by ANGAIR and aims to restore the environment around Moggs Creek to its original condition.
