New facility for Elephant Walk (2014)

A new public toilet has been constructed in this popular area.

Works are now complete on a new amenities block for Elephant Walk, Torquay. 

The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) allocated approx $200,000 for the project, which will cater for walkers, picnic goers and other recreational users of the area and is sensitively designed and located.

The pre-existing Torquay Play Park toilets (located on the Foreshore at the eastern end of Zeally Bay Road) – were constructed approximately 30 years ago and were in poor re[aor

The new toilets have been sensitively designed to integrate with the foreshore, whilst providing a user-friendly facility consistent with its high visibility and use.

The building design has followed the Victorian Coastal Strategy and associated sitting and design guidelines for structures along the Victorian coast.
